Seoul Part 2 in Hongdae - Teddy Twosome Cafe, StyleNanda, Yeolbong, Trick Eye Museum and more

Day 3:

We are at... Hongdae!!! Woo

Teddy's Twosome cafe is right in front of Hongik's University's entrance

And by the way, we were in a cab cause we couldn't look for the place that we are looking for. We actually take the subway every single day!

So what was the first thing we did when we got to Hongdae...?

Twosome Cafe owned by Teddy!!!!!!!!!!!

Level 3

Some info on the artist Mina Kwon

I love love loveeee her art work so much so it was an honor to see them in person! Absolutely amazing~

Merch you can buy there are displayed at level 3

Merch corner

Mugs

Mina's artwork for sale

Autographed mugs selling for super expensive

What we've ordered
SO SO GOOD I AM NOT EVEN KIDDING

Their signature beef sandwich with charcoal bread

Best best green tea latte I've ever tasted so far

Annoying bro hahaha

Bought a poster and a Twosome Studio T-shirt yay

To get to Twosome Cafe owned by Teddy...

  • Take the subway to Hongik University Station (Line 2)
  • Get out from Exit 9
  • Keep walking ahead
  • Will walk past H&M / Holly's Coffee
  • Spot the huge Hongik University Entrance
  • Cross the road and turn left
Address:
Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu 338-48
Seoul, South Korea

We then walked around to explore while walking towards the famous street of Hongdae! Spotted a really cool shop!

And now... The popular street of Hongdae for SHOPPING!!!

I really loved shopping at this street! I got the most items from this street if I did not remember wrongly...? Everything was nice, trendy and not too expensive. The best.

To get to the busiest and the most "happening" part of Hongdae, just get out of Hongik Station from Exit 9 and you got it! (Just a side note, it is even better at night with all the bars, clubs and even performances and games on the streets!)

Next, it is the Trick Eye Museum I've been anticipating

Photo spam coming up so please be prepared...

Keith Harings

Got our tickets

Since the ticket consists of the Trick Eye Museum and the Ice Museum, we visited the Ice Museum first! It was about -2 Degrees Celsius inside and they DO NOT provide any jackets/windbreakers. And with that, I entered wearing a thin sleeveless blouse.

Favorite cute penguins

We had to wear a cape (?) like this which I do not know what for cause it does nothing and it does not even keep me warm!?

Oprah Show hahaha

Ice toilet

Love the illusions these photos make!? It is actually just a small little room with a sloped ground and ceiling. I still have no idea how it works though... Super cool!

Mama's head for dinner tonight! Muahaha

Oh you know, just v casually lying on the wall

Wanted to imitate the cat but I just look surprised...

"Mummy you're falling down from the sky with many other nutcrackers, pose!!!"
And she did this hahaha so cute

LOL

Mummy's favorite Jet Li! Her pose hahaha

Done with photos taken at the Trick Eye Museum finally... It was super fun and I am so glad we went! The one at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore has already opened but it is double the price as compared to the one in Seoul and I heard that you've to queue there for about 4 hours before you can get in. Worse thing is, the tickets get sold out super quickly and you won't be able to get any tickets if you go there a bit later in the afternoon. Terrible. See how empty the one is in Seoul! It was so much easier taking photos and we did not have to wait. Very awesome.

And after that, it was back to the streets of Hongdae!

Street snacks

The shoes there oh my wanna own everything

The sky got dark and it was time for dinner! Guess whats for dinner???

Yes, Yeolbong!!!!!!!

Yeolbong is a chicken restaurant owned by Se7en, an artiste from YG Entertainment.

Big Bang signed poster <3

The signature chicken

You can choose different levels of spiciness like level 1 being just slightly spicy and level 4 (if I did not remember wrongly) being the spiciest of them all. Level 1 to us was just right because the flavor was already super strong and a little spicy because of the pepper and spices. I read somewhere that one person ordered level 4 because she really loves spicy food but teared when she ate level 4 and found it hard to continue haha oh my. Koreans really love their spicy food. Never order anything spicy in Korea if you can't eat spicy food well!!

Se7en's celebratory cakes at the restaurant

Super cool store I really liked
Got a pair of shoes from there!!!!! Loveeeeee

One of the many night performances on the streets of Hongdae

And even games too

Selling bags on a car

Really loved the streets of Hongdae especially at night! The food, shopping, entertainment and so much more. Favorite!

After leaving Hongdae, we took the train back to DDM Station where our hotel is! But first, we went to Lotteria (its like McDonalds but a Korean one) and got ourselves some supper to takeaway to enjoy in the hotel room!

Waiting for our turn

ChiMaek! Chicken and beer hehe just like how Cheon Song Yi does it

We then went to Hongdae once more on another day because we did not have the time to visit the flagship store of StyleNanda on the same day!

Love the little cafes in Seoul so much... They're just so pretty and give off this super chill and awesome vibe. Love it!

After walking for a bit... We got hungry! And we decided to have Korea BBQ cause the night was cold.

Some free and VERY yummy bean paste soup

Very good BBQ meat and Kimchi

Supper was damn shiok that night! Yumssss~

And with that, I'll end off this post on Hongdae! Hongdae is amazing and I am sooo gonna go again when I visit Seoul the next time.
